1. Overview & Privacy Promise
At Fastcopy ("we", "us", or "our"), operated under PromptGallery India, we believe privacy should be built directly into the software architecture rather than hidden in legal fine print. Fastcopy is engineered as an ephemeral utility. We do not sell personal data, do not profile our users, do not monetize clipboard contents, and do not track browsing behavior across the web.
In plain terms: guest clips exist solely to be transferred between your devices and are automatically and permanently purged upon expiration. Registered accounts store only what you explicitly save, and you retain complete control to delete your data at any time.
2. Information We Collect
The data we collect depends on how you interact with Fastcopy:
A. Guest & Anonymous Users (No Login Required)
- Pasted Content: Raw plain text, URLs, or file snippets that you submit for transfer. This payload is stored temporarily in encrypted cloud storage solely to facilitate cross-device retrieval.
- Ephemeral Share Identifiers: A randomly generated 4-digit code and access timestamp.
- Technical & Network Telemetry: Anonymized server access logs, rough geolocation (country/region level), browser type, and IP address collected strictly for rate-limiting, DDoS prevention, and security filtering.
B. Registered Account Users
- Account Credentials: Email address and encrypted authentication tokens managed securely via Google Firebase Authentication.
- Saved Snippets Library: Titles, labels, favorites, and snippet text you explicitly choose to store in your personal clipboard dashboard.
- Account Timestamps: Account creation date and last sign-in timestamp.
3. How We Use Information
We process your data strictly for legitimate operational purposes:
- Service Delivery: Storing, synchronizing, and serving your clips between designated devices upon entry of the associated 4-digit code or account credentials.
- Abuse Prevention & Security: Detecting brute-force attempts on 4-digit codes, preventing spam script injection, and defending against denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
- System Health & Performance: Monitoring latency and database connection integrity using standard, non-invasive Google Firebase operational metrics.
We do not engage in behavioral profiling, automated automated credit scoring, or targeted advertising.
4. Data Retention & Guaranteed Auto-Deletion
Our data lifecycle policy is governed by strict expiration rules:
- Guest Temporary Clips: Permanent auto-deletion is enforced immediately upon expiration of the chosen expiry window (10 minutes, 1 hour, or maximum 24 hours). Once expired, the content and its 4-digit code are permanently wiped from the database and recycled.
- Single-Use Retrievals: When configured, clips are purged immediately following successful download.
- Account Snippets: Retained until you manually delete a clip or delete your account. Deletion is instantaneous and permanent across our active datastores.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
Fastcopy uses strictly necessary client-side storage mechanisms:
- Local Storage & Session Storage: Used to maintain client theme preferences, temporary device pairing keys, and active session tokens.
- No Third-Party Ad Cookies: Fastcopy does not deploy marketing pixels, ad network cookies, or cross-site tracking beacons (such as Facebook Pixel or third-party ad tags).
6. Third-Party Infrastructure Providers
To ensure ultra-low latency and global reliability, Fastcopy utilizes top-tier cloud infrastructure providers who act as data processors:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Provides our backend real-time database, cloud hosting, and secure authentication infrastructure. All data in transit is encrypted using modern TLS protocols.
- Content Delivery & DNS: Cloudflare or standard edge caching for fast asset distribution and distributed denial-of-service protection.
These providers are contractually and legally bound to process data only in accordance with our instructions and under strict industry security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
7. Data Security Standards
We implement multi-layered technical safeguards:
- Encryption in Transit: 100% of data transmitted to and from Fastcopy is protected with HTTPS / Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3).
- Least-Privilege Database Access: Firebase Realtime Database security rules isolate user clips so that no user can query or inspect clips belonging to another account.
- Plain-Text Isolation: All snippet payloads are rendered as raw text without HTML or script execution, actively preventing Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) payloads.
8. Children’s Privacy
Fastcopy is a technical utility tool designed for general audiences and software developers. It is not directed to children under the age of 18 (or 13 depending on regional definitions). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal identifiable data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, please notify us immediately for prompt deletion.
9. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023 Alignment)
In accordance with the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023) and global privacy standards, you hold the following rights:
- Right to Access: You can view all saved clips directly inside your account dashboard at any time.
- Right to Correction: You can edit or update any snippet or title directly in your library.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can delete any individual clip or request the complete deletion of your account and associated records.
- Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to register concerns or complaints regarding our data practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect functional updates, security improvements, or regulatory developments under Indian law. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be updated. Continued use of Fastcopy following any modification signifies acceptance of the updated terms.
